Our Greenhouse Reconstruction Journey

Hi Friends and Family!

It’s hard to believe that it’s been three years since we first built our plastic greenhouse. As time passed, the plastic began to degrade, and we recently made the decision to tear it down and rebuild using new bottles. But what did we do with the old bottles, you ask? We shredded them and plan to create Ecobricks from the remains!

We wanted to find a responsible solution for the old materials to avoid creating a bigger environmental issue. Many projects start with good intentions, but without long-term sustainability, they can lead to unintended consequences. By turning the old plastic into ecobricks, we’re giving them a new life. While it’s not a perfect answer to the plastic problem, it does help mitigate it in our little corner of the world. Our goal is always to ensure that every project we undertake is self-sustaining and beneficial to the community, rather than harmful.

This week, our sponsored children joined us to learn about conservation and lend a hand with the new greenhouse. They’re heading back to school on Monday, but they were eager to come over and be part of this project before their break ended.

Thanks to all the helping hands, we managed to rebuild the greenhouse in just one day, and cleanup was quick and easy! These children have worked so hard this year, learning about each project and seeing the effort we put into supporting the community. Their interest grows every time they come by, and we love seeing how enthusiastic they are about giving back. We hope they take away important lessons on teamwork, sustainability, and the impact they can have when they work together for a common goal.

As always, thank you all for your continued support! Together, we’re making a difference.

Warmly,

Olivia
